Thanks for joining us today at The Rock Church!

Thanks for joining us today at The Rock Church!

All right! For the last couple of weeks we’ve been celebrating the Fall Ride in Tomahawk. We’ve spent our time blessing bikes, talking about traveling light, and learning about why it can be dangerous to ask God to bless us. This week, we’re going to wrap up our series on “Faith For The Journey” by talking about what happens when the tough times come. (And it’s “when”, not “if”.) To do that, we have to check out Paul in the midst of a storm, as well as hearing about one of the dumbest “bike moments” Pastor Barry has ever had! It’s Fall Ride Weekend! The Rock Church got to spend their time doing Bike Blessings, praying with people, and doing an Arby’s fundraiser! But as we were setting up for Bike Blessings, Pastor Barry got thinking about them… Have you ever stopped to think about what’s involved in “blessing” someone else? A blessing is a powerful – and dangerous – thing to do! Why? Because there’s an incredible God involved. A God who “sees”. In honor of the upcoming Tomahawk Fall Ride, we’re going to start talking about…motorcycles! (Seems kind of obvious, right?) In this series, we’re going to talk about how TO ride and how NOT TO ride! Today, we’re going to take a look at what we’re putting in our saddlebags, and why putting the wrong things in can wreck our ride. We’ll also see what Paul has to say about how – and why – we ride in the first place! (You don’t have to be a biker to benefit from this series!) Today, we’re blessed to be joined by Pastor Matt Miklasz. Pastor Miklasz has served in local Church ministry for over 30 years. He has served both as a Student Ministries Pastor and Sr. Pastor. He also has authored four books and has served as speaker at various conferences. Join us as we dig into the story of the Samaritan woman by the well. Good morning! Today, we’re going to take a short detour and deal with something that affects most – if not all – of us: mental health. Many of us know what it’s like to struggle with mental health issues; or we know someone who is struggling. As we jump in, we’re going to use an example of healing from the Bible to see what we need to do to move from coping and surviving to hoping and thriving. We’ll also discuss some real, simple, practical steps to move from where we’re at to where God wants us to be. Welcome to “Cope or Hope? Survive or Thrive?” You can download the Listening Guide from our folder at: https://tinyurl.com/The-Rock-Church

Today, we’re wrapping up our series on serving others. We’ve seen how we, as Christians, need to have both faith and deeds. We’ve talked about how we are all needed to serve together as the Body of Christ. And we’ve talked about how there is no such thing as a “Lone Ranger” Christian! This week, we’re going to wrap up the series by going to the fair: The Ministry Fair! We’re going to take a good look at what it takes to serve like Jesus, by taking a good look at how Jesus served. Welcome to “Serving Others: Ministry Fair”. You can download the Listening Guide from our folder at: https://tinyurl.com/The-Rock-Church

Last week we started a series on serving others. We looked at how we, as Christians, needed to have both faith – in Jesus – and deeds – done out of love and gratitude for all He has done – to show what we believe. This week, we’re going to see what it takes to serve in a different way: as the Body of Christ. We’re going to dig deep into 1 Corinthians to see what Paul has to say about both our purpose AND our place in the Body of Christ. We’re also going to talk about how it can all go wrong! Welcome to “Serving Others: All Or Nothing”. You can download the Listening Guide from our folder at: https://tinyurl.com/The-Rock-Church

Today we’re starting a new series on serving. We’re going to be looking at why service matters, how even one person can make a difference, and why serving others can change lives…some for an eternity! For our first lesson, we’re going to see which is more important: faith or deeds? As a Christian, can we have one without the other? If so, what does that look like? So join us as we dig into the book of James on our first stop in seeing what it means to serve! Today is a great honor for us: we’re going to hear from our Mission Team to Kenya! They’re going to lead worship, as well as share their experiences out on the mission field. The most exciting thing is we get to see what God has done both to and through the team! God sends us out to change lives, and those that faithfully answer the call find that their lives are changed, too. Welcome to “Kenya Report”! Last week, we explored the acronym “CAMP” and how we need to use it to keep our eyes focused on Jesus. But what happens if we lose that focus? Or, worse yet, what if we trade it for something temporary…something that can never satisfy us? Actually, the Bible is full of stories of people who traded God’s will for their wants…and then regretted it later on. And one of the most famous examples, is one of the first! Pastor Barry has just finished three weeks of speaking at Crescent Lake Bible Camp. God did some amazing things, and it was an honor and a blessing to be there and watch God change lives like only He can do! This week, you’re invited to go to CAMP as Pastor Barry shares some insights that he learned over this Summer. We’re also joined by the Crescent Lake Bible Camp Staff for the music, so today should be really…camp-y! Welcome to “Learning To CAMP”! We’re wrapping up a series on “apologetics” or “defending your faith”. We’ve seen that we need to live our lives in such a way that people see Christ in us, we’ve learned that having arguments doesn’t win souls, and we’ve even sent out our first Mission Team as a way to both share and strengthen our faith and the faith of others. This week, we’re going to talk about one of the most important ways to defend our faith, and that’s through finding answers to questions – both our questions and the questions of others! Welcome to “The Power Of Questions”! You can download the Listening Guide from our folder at: https://tinyurl.com/The-Rock-Church
